OVERVIEW

Private Pilot Licence (PPL) is a licence that allows you to fly anywhere as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or co-pilot when the aircraft is being operated in a private operation.

Still restricted to day operation, this licence becomes the foundation to further qualify yourself to fly Multi-Engine Aircraft (MEA) and/or IFR/Night operation!

PRIVILEGES & THE DOOR TO

Privileges:

· Act as PIC or co-pilot of an aircraft that is engaged in private operation.

· Carry family and friends for private operation

· Fly anywhere so long as appropriate approval are obtained!

The Door to:

·  Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)

·  Instrument Rating

·  Night VFR Rating

·   Multi-Engine Class Rating

ENROLMENT CRITIERIA

To Enrol:

· Be minimum of 16 years of age;

· Hold CASA RPL(A) Flight Crew Licence;

· Hold ICAO English Level 4 (or higher);
· Hold CASA Flight Crew Class II Aviation Medical Certificate;
· Hold CASA Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC);

· Conduct an interview and be recommended by the CEO (or its delegate) for course acceptance.

To Hold PPL:

· Be a minimum of 17 years of age;
· Completed Flight Training at a CASA Part 141 Flight Training Organisation;
· Have a minimum of :
   · Total Aeronautical Experience (includes on all categories) Not less than 35
   · Total Flight Time as a Pilot (on all categories) Not less than 30
   · Total Flight Time as Pilot of an Aeroplane Not less than 20
   · Total Solo Flight Time in an Aeroplane Not less than 10

   · Total Solo Cross-Country Flight Time in an Aeroplane Not less than 5

   · Total Dual Instrument Time (on all categories) Not less than 2

   · Total Dual Instrument Flight Time in an Aeroplane Not less than 1

· Hold ICAO English Level 4 (or higher);

· Hold CASA Flight Crew Class II Aviation Medical Certificate;

· Hold CASA Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC);

· Pass CASA PPL (Aeroplane) Theory Examination; and

· Pass CASA PPL (Aeroplane) Flight Test

Lecture (180hours):

· Performance and Planning
· Navigation
· Meteorology
· Human Factors
· Flight Radio and Communications

Operation Brief: 28 hours

Practical In-Flight Training (26.0 hours)

Simulator Training (1 hour)

TUITION FEE

The tuition fee of PPL is made up of four sub-categories:

1. Books and equipment;

2. Practical Training;

3. Theoretical Assessment; and

4. Practical Assessment.

 

Note: there are items that must be purchased/equipped by the student themselves and the associated cost is not included in the tuition fee

TRAINERS & INSTRUCTORS

All Trainers/Flight Instructors of FAC are appropriately qualified and hold the appropriate Licence, Rating(s), Endorsement(s) and Vocational Qualification(s) for what they are approved to teach in. They are all ICAO English Level 5 (or higher) holders and receives continuous training to further develop their teaching skills on a day-to-day basis.
